Dinah McLeod is a seasoned professional in sustainability and strategic consulting with extensive experience in leadership roles across various sectors. Currently serving as the Director General at the Cobalt Institute since June 2023, McLeod previously worked as an independent consultant and trustee from July 2021 to June 2023, advising clients in asset management, the built environment, and governmental organizations. McLeod held the position of Chief Executive Officer at the GCCA, leading a global trade association to reduce industrial CO2 emissions. McLeod also contributed significantly as a Director at The B Team, Deputy Director at the Overseas Development Institute, and held progressive roles in corporate social responsibility and sustainability at Sandoz, British Telecom, the World Bank, and the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit. Educated at Columbia University and The Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, McLeod holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master’s degree in public administration.

Cobalt Institute
The Cobalt Institute (CI) is a non-profit trade association composed of producers, users, recyclers, and traders of cobalt which promotes the sustainable production and use of cobalt and acts as a knowledge centre for governments, agencies, industry, the media and the public. The Institute is largely focused on health, safety and environment, regulatory matters (chemical management), responsible sourcing, sustainability markers, global advocacy and providing useful information on cobalt and its applications.
