Timothy Zhang has a diverse work experience spanning from 2014 to the present. In 2014, they worked as a Customer Service Associate at Walgreens. From 2015 to 2017, they held various positions including Physics Instructor at College Academy, Electrical Engineering Intern at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Summer Engineering Intern at Draper, and Independent Contractor at the Springfield Museums. In 2017, they also presented at the 23rd Annual Massachusetts Statewide Undergraduate Research Conference. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as an Operational Performance Training and Integration Intern at ISO New England Inc. and as an Education Abroad - Engineering Peer Advisor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Currently, they are a Lead Application Engineer at Cobalt Robotics, where they are responsible for managing a rapidly expanding fleet of security robots, actively coordinating between engineering, sales, operations, and customers, and deploying new robots to customers.

Timothy Zhang attended Melrose High School from 2011 to 2015, where they earned a High School Diploma in General Studies. Timothy then attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2015 to 2020, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. In 2017, they also attended The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and earned a Bachelor of Engineering in ECE and Business.
