Alicia Lawrence is an experienced educator with a strong background in special education and curriculum development. Currently serving as an Autism Teacher at Cobb County School District since July 2016, Alicia designs curricula tailored to meet the needs of students with autism and oversees the training and development of up to 4 direct reports. Prior experience includes a role as a Special Education Teacher at Charles R Drew Charter School, where Alicia managed caseloads and developed curricula for students with diverse learning disabilities, as well as serving as a First Grade Lead Teacher, coordinating efforts among up to 20 educators. In 2015, Alicia contributed to the creation of an innovative cloud-based curriculum with LearnZillion and began a career in education as a Corps Member and First Grade Teacher with Teach For America, selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants. Alicia holds a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
