Alvaro Del Castillo

Alvaro Del Castillo has a long and varied work experience. Alvaro started their career in 2000 as a GNOME Developer with the GNOME Foundation. In 2008, they joined CENATIC as a Certification and Training Manager. In 2009, they became an Open Source Manager and Senior Software Engineer at Andago. In 2012, they co-founded Bitergia and served as CTO, R&D Manager, and was responsible for technological development, community development, and general strategy. From 2016 to 2021, they worked as an Associate Professor at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and as a Teaching Fellow at URJC - DevOps/Robotics. In 2021, they joined Smart Protection as a Senior Software Engineer and worked on the User Portal. Finally, in 2022, they joined Cobee as a Senior Software Engineer to rearchitect a Node.js monolith and improve the team's efficiency.

Alvaro Del Castillo obtained a Master's degree in Telecommunication from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid between 1992 and 1998.
