Sofia Lopez Manzano

P&I Regional Head for the Americas Architectural Designer & Architectural Implementation at COBOD International

Sofia Lopez Manzano has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Sofia currently works at COBOD International as the P&I Regional Head for the Americas and also serves as an Architectural Designer and Architectural Implementation specialist. Prior to this role, Sofia worked at COBOD International in the Projects & Implementation Training department.

Before joining COBOD International, Sofia held a position at ExxonMobil as the Mexico Fuels 3rd Party Terminals Manager from November 2018 to October 2021. Sofia also worked at Watco Companies LLC as a Project Logistics Manager and later as a Project Office Manager. In the latter role, they were involved in Mexico's Energetic Reform market entry and played a key role in the start-up of the company's first foreign hydrocarbons terminal in the Mexican republic. Sofia also provided English-Spanish translation services for design, construction, and operational divisions.

Sofia Lopez Manzano has a diverse education history. In 2011, they began their studies at Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, where they pursued a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Sofia completed their undergraduate studies in 2017.

In 2019, Sofia attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a short-term program focused on Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design and Production, with a specific emphasis on 3D printing.

Following that, Sofia enrolled in an E-learning program offered by MasterClass in San Francisco, California, to study International Business. Sofia started this program in 2020 and is currently pursuing their degree.

Additionally, Sofia has obtained various certifications to enhance their skill set. These include certificates in Designing products of the Future from Futurity Studio and Fundamentals of Construction 3D Printing (C3D-1100) from Apis Cor, both obtained in November 2021. Sofia also holds a certification in Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design and Production from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earned in August 2019. Sofia further acquired certifications in OSHA Construction Safety and Health from 360training in March 2018, 3D Printing Software from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in January 2017, Construction Project Management from Columbia University in the City of New York in November 2016, and 3D Printing Applications and 3D Printing Revolution from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in July and June 2016, respectively.
