Dr Chris Ireland

Dr. Chris Ireland is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in cloud-based banking systems and enterprise architecture. Currently serving as Head of Enterprise Architects for EMEA at Cockroach Labs since July 2020, Chris focuses on designing and deploying large-scale systems for Financial Services clients, utilizing a diverse technology stack including AWS EKS and CockroachDB. As a Visiting Researcher at The Open University since July 2013, Chris has contributed to various publications. Previous roles include Technical Account Manager at NuoDB, Software Development/Project Manager at Credit Suisse, and Market Access Development/Project Manager at Bank of America, where Chris managed significant projects within trading systems. Dr. Ireland holds a PhD in Computing and an MBA from The Open University, alongside a BA (Hons) in Systems Analysis from the University of the West of England.
