Ada Ortega

Ada Ortega has a diverse work experience, starting as an Editorial Intern at LATINA Style Inc., where they edited stories and constructed the magazine's online newsletter. Ada then worked as a Government Affairs Intern at Public Broadcasting Service and later as a Production Assistant Intern at Purple Flame Media Ltd. Ada then joined AVANCE, Inc. as a Communications Specialist, collaborating with the communications department and promoting online communication outreach. Ada also worked as a Freelance Writer for LATINA Style Inc. during this time. Ada's next role was as a Video Production Assistant at the Texas House of Representatives. Ada then joined the Texas Democratic Party as a Regional Press Secretary and Latino Media Coordinator, where they managed press conferences and coordinated press and earned media for local and statewide candidates. Ada then worked as a Corporate Communications Manager at Community First Health Plans, facilitating marketing campaigns and securing partnerships with community organizations. Ada then served as a Press Secretary in the City of Houston Mayor's Office, developing consistent messaging and managing proactive and reactive communications matters. Currently, Ada is the Director of Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability for Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, where they execute business plans and supports government relations activities.

Ada Ortega received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Broadcast Journalism from American University, where they studied from 2009 to 2012. Ada then participated in a Study Abroad Program at the Foundation for International Education (FIE) in 2012. In addition, they obtained a certification in Goal Setting: Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) from LinkedIn in 2023.
