Yutong Song

Principal Scientist at Codagenix

Yutong Song, PhD, MCP has extensive work experience in the field of synthetic biology and vaccine development. Yutong began their career at the Hubei Provincial Institute of Biotechnology in 1992, where they served as a Research Assistant and eventually became the Head of the Diagnostic Section. In 1997, they became the Managing Director of Wuxi Changsheng Medical Equipment Co., Ltd, successfully establishing and managing the joint-venture company in Wuxi, China. After this, they pursued postdoctoral research positions at the University of Giessen and Emory University. In 2008, they joined Stony Brook University as a Research Scientist and Research Assistant Professor, focusing on vaccine development with various RNA viruses. Yutong also collaborated on projects with pharmaceutical companies and research institutes. In 2020, they transitioned to the role of Principal Scientist at Codagenix Inc.

Yutong Song, PhD, MCP, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Giessen School of Medicine, which they earned from 2001 to 2006. Yutong also holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Virology from Central China Normal University, obtained from 1985 to 1992. Yutong additionally earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Central China Normal University. In terms of additional certifications, they are a MicroSoft Certified Professional, certified by Microsoft in 2016. Furthermore, they obtained a certificate in R Programming from Johns Hopkins University on Coursera in October 2015.
