Code-4 Counseling

Code-4 Counseling is fiercely committed to supporting the people in our communities who serve and protect us each day. Owned and operated by Dr. Sara Garrido, an expert public safety psychologist and consultant for the past ten years, our practice builds deep trust and strong relationships with emergency responders, their families, and police and fire agencies across the Front Range. Code-4 Counseling offers personalized mental wellness services for police and fire personnel, and the members of their families. From individual and couples counseling, mental wellness checkups, peer support supervision, critical incident response, in-service training, and agency wellness program development and support, our practice provides the full spectrum of support and care for emergency first responders and their families. Code-4 Counseling creates trainings that are interactive and engaging. Dr. Garrido is a natural at getting people laughing, sharing stories, and crafting relevant takeaways that staff can actually use personally and professionally. For communication training, stress management, critical incident recovery, resiliency, and general mental wellness, Code-4 Counseling is the practice to best support your agency. Dr. Garrido also provides supervision and consulting services for peer support teams or agencies that want to start a general peer support team, trauma response team, or other wellness programming. She’s supported several agencies in developing their programs, and has seen the rise of these kinds of programs become more and more integrated into departments around the state. Starting wellness programs can be overwhelming for departments with competing priorities and limited resources. Dr. Garrido streamlines the process and supports your agency as you get your program up and running.
