Meet Carlos Matias: artist, mentor, futurist — and a relentless force in the world of design. For over two decades, Carlos has stirred the global creative scene, from founding his independent design and art studio in Lisbon to leaving his mark across London, Tokyo, Shanghai, and New York. His journey led him to the West Coast, where he took on the role of Global Brand Design Director at Nike’s headquarters in Oregon.

Carlos’s work at Nike helped shape some of the brand’s most iconic campaigns — including Nike Rise: House of Mamba, Nike World Cup 2014: The Language of Football, and Korobka Rebels — blending cultural insight with bold, unforgettable storytelling.

With 20+ years of experience, Carlos is among the most awarded creatives in his field, honored with multiple Gold Lions and D&AD Awards. His design leadership has guided groundbreaking work for the world’s most influential brands, including Converse, Beats by Dre, The Palms Resort in Las Vegas, Marc Jacobs, NBC, Lululemon, and BBC.

Known for his instinctive grasp of culture and form, Carlos doesn’t just build campaigns — he crafts visual narratives that leave a lasting imprint on the world.
