Alpana Saxena

Alpana Saxena, PhD has a diverse work experience. Alpana is currently a Research Scientist at Code Biotherapeutics, a position they have held since 2021. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Research Project Lead (Assay Development) for Biotech sponsored Cancer Immunotherapy Research at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. From 2018 to 2019, they were a Molecular Biologist at New York University. From 2011 to 2018, they were a Gastrointestinal Science Student Researcher at the University of Calgary, where they designed, managed, and fulfilled two projects on the microbial and immunologic changes in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, culminating in two first-author publications and collaborated with fellow researchers to complete two additional projects that culminated in two second-author publications. Alpana also reviewed existing literature to identify and utilize techniques necessary for project completion, and effectively communicated and presented findings in poster and oral presentations at eight national and international conferences. Prior to this, from 2007 to 2011, they were a Laboratory Course Instructor at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Alpana Saxena, PhD, has an education history that includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Gastrointestinal Science, with a specialization in Microbiology, obtained from the University of Calgary between 2011 and 2017. Alpana also holds a Master's degree in Clinical Chemistry from the Rochester Institute of Technology, which they obtained between 2008 and 2011. Additionally, they have a Certification in Basic Biotechnology Skills for Bioprocessing Operations from the Rochester Institute of Technology, which they obtained in 2006.
