Kelly Coughlan has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. In 2003, they started their career as an Audit Supervisor at KPMG New Zealand, where they managed various assurance and advisory audits for clients such as AstraZeneca and Siemens. Kelly also had a 5-month secondment to KPMG Amsterdam in 2006.
Moving on, Kelly worked as a Project Accountant at Independent News & Media from 2006 to 2007. During their time there, they resolved the implementation issues of a purchase order system and reviewed the debtor collection process for a new recruitment site.
Following this, Kelly joined Royal Bank of Scotland in 2007 as Head of MI Central Support - Vice President. Initially, they were a contractor supporting the MI lead for the bank's Markets & International Banking division. Eventually, they took over the MI lead role and was responsible for providing timely and relevant divisional reporting to the CFO. Kelly also had ownership and sign-off for all management data within the division.
Kelly took maternity leave from 2016 to 2019, after which they joined Soft Tech Group as a Project Accountant. In that role, they assisted in the implementation of a new finance system and bridged software licensing system.
From 2019 to 2020, Kelly worked as a Financial Accountant at enablebusiness, followed by a contracting role as a Contractor - Projects at Affleck O'Meara from 2020 to 2022.
Most recently, Kelly served as the Chief Financial Officer at CodeLingo starting in 2022. And currently, they are a Contractor - Projects at BDO in New Zealand.
Kelly Coughlan earned a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Commerce Honors degree from the University of Otago between 1998 and 2002, with a focus on Japanese and Accountancy. In 2006, Kelly obtained a certification as a Chartered Accountant from the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
