Martin Wright

Principal Programmer at Codemasters

Martin Wright has over 15 years of work experience in the gaming industry. Martin started their career in 2004 at XN Entertainment, where they developed graphical systems and game client programs for gambling terminals in casinos. Martin also assisted with the construction and maintenance of the equipment. In 2007, they joined 3rd Dimension Creations as a Programmer, working on AI pathfinding, player controls, gameplay mechanics, and level scripting. Martin provided assistance for the release of the Wii game Vacation Sports. In 2009, Martin joined Codemasters as a Principal Programmer, initially focusing on gameplay code for the F1 team. Martin worked on features such as race weekend strategies, weather simulation, penalty adjudication, and race control flags. Martin later shifted their focus to AI, working on choreographed mistake systems for AI drivers and AI-driven pit systems.

Martin Wright attended Teesside University from 1999 to 2001, where they earned a BSc degree in Visualisation with a Second Class (2:2) honors. Prior to that, from 1997 to 1999, they attended the University of Teesside and obtained an HND in Visualisation. Martin also pursued an MSc degree in Computer Aided Graphical Technology Applications from Teesside University from 2002 to 2003, specializing in Computer Graphics.
