Chris Deferio is an experienced coffee industry professional with a diverse background in training, operations, and quality control. Currently serving as Host, Producer, and Consultant at Keys to the Shop since 2017, Chris focuses on advancing the careers of coffee service professionals and enhancing shop capabilities. As Head Latte Art Judge, Lecturer, and Trainer at Coffee Fest since January 2005, Chris contributes expertise in coffee artistry and education. Previous roles include Operations Manager at Sunergos Coffee, Manager/Barista Trainer/Quality Control at Cafe Kubal, and Coffee Program and Espresso Bar Director at Carriage House Cafe, among others. Chris began a career in coffee at Wegmans Food Markets as a Coffee Bar Barista and has consistently pursued educational growth through the School of Doing the Work since 1999.
