Lee Garris

Lee Garris has a extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Lee started their career in 1990 as a Senior Technical Applications Consultant at Sprint Nextel, where they managed sales engineers and provided technical support to major clients. Lee then served as the Telephony Products - Technical Product Manager, responsible for developing and implementing network-based products. Later, they became the Senior Manager of Broadband Network Operations, leading a team in a 24x7 Network Operations Center.

In 2010, Garris joined FiberTower as a Senior Operations Manager, overseeing daily operations and network management. Lee later moved to Sprint, where they held roles such as Regional Operations Manager and Senior Manager - NSPM Account Management. In these positions, they were responsible for managing large regions, overseeing maintenance and repair of network resources and leading vendor management teams.

Currently, Lee Garris is the Director of Outside Plant Engineering at Cogent Communications, a position they started in 2023. Overall, Garris has a strong background in network operations, project management, and leadership within the telecommunications industry.

Lee Garris obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts from The University of Texas at Austin, where they studied from 1984 to 1989.
