Joshua Simmons, P.E., PMP

Joshua Simmons, P.E., PMP has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and project management. Joshua is the Founder and CEO of Cogito Innovations, where they focus on making mission-critical communications systems more accessible for smaller organizations. Joshua also serves as a Systems Engineering Manager at BAE Systems, managing the engineering development of C4ISR communications systems for Navy destroyers and Coast Guard icebreakers. Joshua has also held positions at Maryland Broadband Cooperative Inc., SMECO, Harris RF Communications, Innovative Solutions Consulting, Inc., Freescale Semiconductor, Ciena, and the US Navy. In these roles, they have worked on various aspects of communication systems, including design, implementation, and support. Joshua has strong expertise in areas such as IP networks, SONET networks, fiber optic networks, and military communications systems. Joshua has a proven track record of successfully managing projects, resolving issues, and providing technical support.

Joshua Simmons, P.E., PMP completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from Capitol Technology University between 2007 and 2010. After their undergraduate degree, they pursued and obtained various certifications to enhance their professional skills. In December 2016, Joshua became a licensed Professional Engineer through the State of Maryland. In the same year, they also obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Additionally, in October 2015, they became a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Lastly, in February 2018, Joshua achieved the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services.
