Dan Patanella

Dan Patanella is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in educational assessment and content development. Currently serving as a Content Specialist (Mathematics) III at Cognia since June 2018, Dan has previously held roles such as Test Development Executive at Independent Assessment Consultant, where responsibilities included comprehensive leadership in math and science test development. As Director of Assessments at Educational Records Bureau, Dan contributed to high-stakes testing projects, and prior experience at the New York City Department of Education involved designing assessments across various subject areas. Dan’s academic background includes positions as an Assistant Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Manhattan College, alongside experience as an Adjunct Lecturer at Lehman College. Dan earned a Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology from Fordham University and a B.A. in Communication Arts/Psychology from Lehman College.
