Zeev Zalevsky

Co-Founder & CTO at COGNIFIBER

Zeev Zalevsky has a diverse and extensive work experience. Zeev is currently the Founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at Nanodrops Ltd and SuperSpectra Ltd, both of which they founded in 2020. Prior to that, they were the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at CogniFiber Ltd, a start-up focused on optical fiber-based processors for faster calculation processes.

Zalevsky also has a significant academic background. Zeev served as the Dean of the Engineering Faculty and later as the Vice Dean of Engineering at Bar-Ilan University. Zeev has held various roles at the university, including Professor of Electrical Engineering and Nanophotonics, Associate Professor, and Senior Lecturer. Zeev has also been involved in administrative tasks such as heading the Ph.D Student Committee and serving on various university committees. Zalevsky has been affiliated with Bar-Ilan University since 2004.

In addition to their academic and start-up roles, Zalevsky has been involved in several other ventures. Zeev founded LensFree, where they served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), focusing on enhanced CT imaging systems. Zeev also founded Z-Square Ltd and ContinUse Biometrics, where they held positions as the Chief Scientific Officer and CTO, respectively. Finally, Zalevsky has served as the Director of the Nanophotonics Center at Bar Ilan Institute for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials (BINA).

Zalevsky has also shared their expertise internationally, serving as a Visiting Professor at Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg from 2011 to 2015.

Zeev Zalevsky completed their Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering at Tel Aviv University from 1991 to 1993. Zeev then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Optoelectronics at the same university from 1993 to 1996.
