Sebastian Fast

Sebastian Fast started their work experience in 2011 with a voluntary military service in the German Federal Armed Forces. In 2014, they worked as a software developer at Spree Rewards until 2015. Sebastian then pursued a Bachelor's thesis at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) from 2015 to 2016. In 2016, they had a summer internship at the Alfred Wegener Institute for polar and marine research. From 2018 to 2022, they worked at Airbus Defence and Space, where they held various roles such as lead software developer for the CIMON AI robot used on the International Space Station, data scientist, and completed a master's thesis. Currently, they are working as a senior software engineer in AI/ML at Cognigy.

Sebastian Fast has a Master's degree in Intelligent Systems from Bielefeld University, which they obtained from 2016 to 2019. Sebastian also pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna from 2017 to 2018. Prior to their Master's degrees, Sebastian completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Environmental- and Geo-Informatics from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts between 2012 and 2016. Additionally, they spent a semester abroad at the University of Tasmania in 2014-2015, studying Physical Oceanography and Antarctic Studies. Sebastian has obtained a certification called "National German Approval Level 'Ü2': VS-Vertraulich" from the Federal Republic of Germany in March 2020.
