John Stocco

John Stocco has over 38 years of experience in the engineering and project management industry. John began their career in 1982 as a Project Engineer at ABB. In 1987, they moved to Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers as a Project Technical Engineer. In 1994, they joined GHD as a Senior Manager, Business Group Manager, Mining and Industry, and was responsible for starting up and developing the M&M group in Western Australia. In 2010, they were appointed Global Director of the Iron Ore Business Unit at Hatch, and was a member of the Hatch Australasian Regional Management team and the Perth executive team. In 2014, they became Chief Operating Officer, Mining, Oil & Gas Division at SMEC. In 2018, they worked as a Project and Study Manager at SNC-Lavalin. In 2021, they were a Senior Study/Project Manager at DRA Global and was responsible for mining strategy, business development, proposal development, ensuing project/study roles, and risk management oversight functions. In 2020, they were appointed Director of the Board of Directors at Cognisium. Finally, in 2022, they became a Senior Project Manager at Fluor Corporation, where they were responsible for the day-to-day management of the study team and delivery of the project study outcomes as well as client management and building of key strategic relationships.

John Stocco obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Western Australia in 1982. Prior to that, they obtained their Leaving Certificate from Aquinas College WA.
