Andy Hancock is the Director of Education for Asia at the Cognita Schools Group. Andy has held this position for 4 years. Prior to their current role, Andy was the Deputy Superintendent, Academic Dean, and MYP/DP Coordinator at Stamford American International School in Singapore for 8 years and 1 month. In this role, they oversaw the Language Department, Learning Support Department, Innovation Program, Pastoral program, and Scheduling. Andy was also the Council for Private Education representative and a member of the Executive Team. In their previous role, Andy was responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining exceptional teachers. Andy also worked closely with the Superintendent and other members of the Executive team to create, communicate, share, and monitor the school's vision. Before Stamford, Andy was the Deputy Head of Middle School at Tokyo International School where they conducted team meetings, coordinated professional development, fostered positive parental and collegial relationships, and served on the Senior Leadership team, Professional Development Committee, Curriculum Committee, and IT Committee. Andy was also responsible for creating the master schedule for teachers and students and making budgetary decisions. During their time at Tokyo International School, Andy designed and implemented a digital curricular planning framework based on Understanding by Design and the IB MYP.
Andy Hancock attended the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where they earned their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Executive MBA. Their field of study was focused on Asia and North America, and they graduated in 2014-2015.
