Sumit Pandey

Sumit Pandey has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Sumit is currently working at Cognite as a Principal Designer, having joined in 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Halogen as a Senior Designer from November 2019 to July 2021.

Before their time at Halogen, Sumit held a role as Design Lead for the LibraryUX initiative at the University of Oslo Library from January 2015 to June 2018. In this position, they developed strategies to promote design skills within a library setting and conducted hands-on design thinking workshops at various academic libraries across the Nordic region.

Sumit also has experience at Creative Europe, where they served as an Interaction Design Researcher/Project Coordinator. During their time there from January 2015 to June 2017, they independently created design projects exploring the cultural impact of smart technologies and mentored student projects.

Prior to that, Sumit worked at Globant as a Senior UX Designer and UX Designer. Sumit led design teams for cloud enterprise infrastructure startups, defined product information architecture, and redefined onboarding experiences. Sumit also consulted for various clients, building user-centered design solutions across different platforms.

Furthermore, Sumit worked as a Guest Design Researcher at the University of Oslo, developing interactive installations for children and co-authoring a research paper on design methods.

Sumit's career began at Parichay, where they worked as a UX/Frontend Designer, focusing on developing an e-commerce solution using Joomla!.

Sumit Pandey completed their education in a chronological order, starting from 2005 until 2019. Sumit pursued their Bachelor's degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology from 2005 to 2009. Following that, they attended the National Institute of Design from 2009 to 2011, where they attained a Post Graduate Diploma in Design with a specialization in New Media Design. Lastly, Sumit completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the University of Oslo (UiO) between 2015 and 2019, focusing on Interaction and Strategic Design.
