Tollef Fog Heen

Tollef Fog Heen has a diverse and extensive work experience in various technology-related roles. Tollef started their career at Canonical Limited as a Developer and Release Manager for Ubuntu, where they were responsible for the development of Ubuntu, maintenance of the AMD64 port, and release management for Ubuntu and its derivatives. Tollef then became the Technical lead for Ubuntu Mobile and Embedded before joining Linpro AS as a Team lead and senior consultant, where they were responsible for Linpro's own products.

Later, Tollef worked at Redpill Linpro as a Technical Product Manager, managing the company's products and supporting pre-sales. Tollef also worked at Collabora Ltd as a System Administrator and at Varnish Software as a Senior Technical Staff member.

In 2014, Tollef joined Fastly, where they were an Engineer responsible for the day-to-day operation of the company's cache servers and control plane servers. Tollef focused on automation and host provisioning, improving the server bootstrap process.

From 2016 to 2019, Tollef worked at FINN.no – mulighetenes marked, where they served as a Senior Developer and later as a Space Lead. In these roles, they contributed to various development projects and helped manage the infrastructure and operations team.

Prior to their current position, Tollef joined Debian in 2011 as a System Administrator and also worked as a Developer. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Engineering (Head of Infrastructure) at Cognite AS.

Tollef Fog Heen completed their education in the field of Computer Science, earning a Siv.ing./Master of Technology degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from the years 2000 to 2005.
