Philippe David

Philippe David has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Philippe started their career at Sony Computer Entertainment as an R&D Contractor in 2005 before moving on to the Augmented Reality Lab at Georgia Tech in 2006, where they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant. In this role, they were involved in developing an augmented reality engine using C/C++ and the open-source 3D engine Ogre.

Following their time at the lab, Philippe joined SOGETI High Tech in 2006 as a Software Engineer. Philippe contributed to a critical application for air traffic controllers that utilized C++ communication with the ACE framework and involved code generation from XML Schema with XSD.

In 2008, Philippe joined Exalead as an R&D Engineer. Here, they focused on research and development projects until 2011. During this time, they also joined Jobijoba as a Senior Software Engineer. At Jobijoba, Philippe was responsible for developing scalable and reliable backend features using cutting-edge technologies like Solr and MongoDB.

In 2013, Philippe transitioned to Cdiscount, where they served as a Search Team Leader until 2014. At Cdiscount, they provided leadership and expertise in search technology.

Philippe's most recent role is with OnCrawl, where they joined in 2014. Philippe initially served as the VP of Engineering, responsible for building a data platform to optimize web data analytics. Philippe'srole included developing applications for Apache Hadoop/Spark/Elasticsearch/MongoDB/Python API clusters. In 2019, Philippe was promoted to CTO, where they continue to contribute to the growth and success of the company.

Philippe David completed their Master's degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology in the year 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from ENSEEIHT in 2006 as well.
