Jay Cohen has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Jay started their career in 2011 as an Insurance Specialist at American HomePatient, where they communicated with patients and insurance companies to ensure accurate coverage for medical equipment. From 2014 to 2016, Jay worked at Benefitfocus, serving as an Employer Services Center Team Lead and Benefits Administrator, where they led a team and provided consulting services for assigning carriers.
Jay then joined SPARC, an Agile Systems Delivery Hub of Booz Allen Hamilton, in 2016 as an Application Support Lead for the VBMS-R project. Here, they utilized their domain knowledge and system administration skills to analyze and diagnose problems, coordinate with the development team, and track documentation in regard to process and incident resolutions.
In 2017, Jay moved to Booz Allen Hamilton, where they took on multiple roles, including Scrum Master, Technical Requirements Analyst, and Project Integration Manager. As a Scrum Master, they facilitated agile teams, managed product backlogs, and reported detailed metrics. Jay also developed specific requirements and served as a development team representative during user acceptance testing.
In 2020, Jay joined Bracari as a Scrum Master, leading Scrum Ceremonies and managing product backlogs for application development. Jay also removed any impediments blocking team progress.
Jay then worked at Juniper by IMC in 2022 as a Business Analyst, where they managed eCommerce product backlogs, developed requirements, and prioritized software releases.
Currently, Jay is a Project Manager and Scrum Manager at Cognitive Medical Systems, Inc. where they are responsible for managing projects and implementing the Scrum methodology.
Jay Cohen attended Tennessee Technological University from 2006 to 2009, where they studied Manufacturing and Industrial Technology with a focus on Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Cleveland State Community College in 2005 and 2006 but did not complete a degree or field of study at that time.
In terms of additional certifications, Jay obtained the "AWS for DevOps: Continuous Delivery and Process Automation" certification from Lynda.com in August 2017. Jay also obtained the "AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner" certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in November 2020. Furthermore, Jay earned the "Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)" certification from Scrum Alliance in September 2019. It is not specified if they obtained the "ICAgile Certified Professional" certification or when they acquired it.
