Ron Parker has a long and varied work experience in digital health. Ron began their career in 2003 with Canada Health Infoway, where they held various roles, such as Group Director Interoperability, Standards, and Analytics, Group Director Emerging Technologies Group, Group Director eHealth Advisory Services, Regional and Group Director for Solutions Architecture Group, and Director of Architecture EHR, Solutions Architecture Group. In 2011, they joined Health Level Seven International and served as Governance Board Chair, FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources). From 2018 to 2021, they held the roles of International Board Director, International Council Co-Chair, HL7 Canada Chair, and Principal Consultant at Parker Digital Health Consulting Inc. In 2019, they were the Operational Lead - interoperable VA (i-VA) Blueprint - U.S. Veterans Administration at Book Zurman, Inc. In 2020, they were the Primary Consultant and Advisor - HL7 Saudi Arabia at Knapp Consulting Inc. Finally, in 2022, they are the Digital Health Architecture Advisor to Sri Lanka at eSHIFT Partner Network.
Ron Parker attended the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology from 1984 to 1985, where they studied Business Computer Programming. Ron also holds a certification in FHL7 from Health Level Seven International.
