Hunter Iaccarino

Scientific Co-Founder at Cognito Therapeutics

Hunter Iaccarino has had diverse work experience in various industries.

From 2012 to 2017, they served as a Doctoral Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During this time, they developed a novel therapeutic avenue for treating neurodegeneration using temporally specific stimulation. Hunter also conducted experiments involving optogenetics, in vivo electrophysiology, and in vivo microdialysis to explore the restoration of network function and cognition in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease. In addition to their research, they managed a team of 16 scientists.

In 2018, they worked as an Ops employee at Uber until 2019.

From 2019 to 2021, they joined Forward, a series C healthcare startup, where they played a significant role in directing the development of West Coast operations and designing new workforce, operating models, and internal systems. Due to their execution focus and scale enablement, they were promoted to Regional Operations Lead. In this role, they oversaw 30+ direct reports across three workforces, managing various aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, and professional development.

Starting in 2022, they worked as the Head of Operations at Hey Jane until 2023, where they were accountable for overseeing the operations of the company.

In 2023, they became a Barber Apprentice at Kindred Barber.

Also, in 2016, they co-founded Cognito Therapeutics, Inc., where they served as a Scientific Co-Founder and was involved in the company's operations until the present time.

Hunter Iaccarino has a Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) degree in Neuroscience from Dartmouth College. Additionally, Hunter Iaccarino pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neuroscience at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
