Cathy Liu

Cathy Liu has worked in a variety of roles since 2012. Cathy began their career as a Dance Instructor at Q-Learning Institute in 2012. In 2014, they worked as a Data Collection Field Staff at BA Consulting Group Ltd. Cathy then worked as a Photo Lab Manager at Shoppers Drug Mart in 2015, followed by a Front Desk Associate at Victoria Inn Hotel & Convention Centre Thunder Bay in the same year. In 2019, they worked as a Web Developer at Urban Cycling Institute and an E-learning Developer at Designing a Bicycle User Experience. In 2020, they became the Founder of Bespok'd, deploying UX-first thinking for branding, web design, and e-commerce. Most recently, in 2021, they are a UX Technical Lead at Cognixion, overseeing design operations and participating in exploration of new UXD patterns. Cathy also helps lead the agile sprint process for the UX team as scrum master.

Cathy Liu completed a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) - BS in Computer Science from Ryerson University between 2019 and 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science - BS with a Specialization in Biochemistry from the University of Alberta between 2016 and 2018. In addition, they have obtained a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance in October 2022, a Google Cloud Essentials from Qwiklabs in March 2021, and a Certificate of Membership from the Interaction Design Foundation in February 2020.
