Cole Heiner

Senior Augmented Reality UX Designer at Cognixion

Cole Heiner has worked in the UX Design field since 2011. Cole began their career as a Peer Tutor at Carnegie Mellon University in 2011, followed by a Graphic Design Intern at Museum Arts, Inc. in 2012 and a Student Design Intern at Carnegie Mellon University Press in 2012. Cole then worked as a Professional Photographer's Assistant at Dallas Auction Gallery in 2011. In 2013, they were a Lab Associate at Disney Research, where they were responsible for 3D animation, motion graphics, storyboarding, and other tasks. In 2014, they began working as a Freelance UX Designer and Researcher. From 2015 to 2020, they worked at Magic Leap, Inc. as an Interaction Designer, where they collaborated with Software and Product teams to define core interactions and user experience of the Lumin OS. Cole then moved to Lenovo in 2020, where they were an Advisory User Experience Designer and supported the designs of Lenovo's commercial Augmented Reality products. Cole is currently a Senior Augmented Reality UX Designer at Cognixion, which they began in 2022.

Cole Heiner received their Bachelors degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Art, and Creative Writing from Carnegie Mellon University in 2014. In 2021, Heiner obtained a certification in UX Design Principles for AR & VR from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
