Michael Mao

Michael Mao has worked in the tech industry since 2014. Michael began their career as a Full-Stack Developer Intern at JMIR Publications Inc. where they replatformed the system with AngularJS and jQuery to complete responsive design and business logic. In 2017, they joined Be A Part Of as a Full Stack Developer and worked on the League License App project using Angular, RESTFUL API, MySQL, AWS, PHP, OAuth 2.0, and D3.js. From 2018 to 2020, they worked as a DevOps Engineer at Hazelway Inc. where they designed and built a RESTFUL Agent server to process and analyze Ecommerce transactional operations, sync product inventories among Shopify and Wechat Store Platforms. Currently, they are employed as a DevOps Engineer at SmartMatch App where they implemented a CI/CD pipeline in the Prod/Dev/QA environment using AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild and CodePipeline and deployed applications using CloudFormation to AWS Cloud with Amazon ECS, AWS RDS, AWS Lambda, AWS S3, Elastic Load Balancer, and AWS API Gateway to enhance 50% performance and reduce 40% cost. Michael is set to join Cognota in 2022 as a DevOps Engineer.

Michael Mao obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Physics from the University of Toronto between 2011 and 2016. In 2021, they obtained an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). In January 2022, they obtained a CKA: Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification from The Linux Foundation and a HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate certification from HashiCorp.
