Jim Levites

Jim Levites has a extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. Jim started their career as an Accountant at Deloitte in 1979 and worked there until 1981. Jim then moved to Getty Oil Company as a Senior Accountant from 1981 to 1984, followed by a role as a Technical Accountant at California Federal Bank from 1984 to 1988. Jim then joined Freddie Mac as an Assistant Controller from 1988 to 1991, before transitioning to Prudential Home Mortgage as a Controller/Default Management from 1991 to 1996.

In 1996, Jim joined Citi and held various roles, including Managing Director of Default Operations from 1996 to 1999, Chief Operating Officer of Mortgage Operations from 1999 to 2000, and Managing Director of Citigroup Real Estate Servicing and Technology from 2000 to 2002. Jim then served as the Chief Operating Officer of Auto Operations, where they implemented process change management strategies and improved origination quality and collections management to turn the Auto operation to profitability. From 2002 to 2004, they served as the Managing Director of Mergers and Acquisition Integration, successfully leading the integration of First American Bank into Citi.

Jim continued their career at Citi as the Managing Director of Project Management-Technology from 2004 to 2006, where they led the successful implementation of new ATM hardware and software worldwide. Jim then served as the Managing Director of Mergers and Acquisition Integration-Credit Cards from 2007 to 2008, where they integrated the world's largest online credit card company into Citi's UK consumer operations. From 2008 to 2014, Jim held the role of Mortgage Repurchase/Servicing/Claims, where they enhanced and developed new methodologies to mitigate credit losses and managed various departments related to mortgage repurchase, claims, and investor document fulfillment.

In 2014, Jim joined Freedom Mortgage as the EVP Mergers and Acquisitions, responsible for integrating companies with Freedom Mortgage to maximize opportunities and synergies. Jim successfully led the merger of Continental Home Loans with Freedom Mortgage. From 2014 to 2015, Jim briefly worked at Flagstar Bank as the EVP of Default Servicing. Jim then returned to Freedom Mortgage as the EVP-Mergers and Acquisitions Integration from 2015 to 2017.

Currently, Jim is the Chief Operating Officer at Cognovi Labs, a start-up technology company that uses AI to determine the emotional content of consumer behavior via social media. Cognovi Labs has successfully predicted major events such as Brexit, the 2016 US Presidential Election, and the Alabama Senate Election.

Jim Levites completed their MBA in Finance/Accounting from California State University, Los Angeles, from 1976 to 1979. Prior to that, they obtained their BA in Political Science/Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, where they studied from 1970 to 1975. There is no available information about their earlier education, but it is known that they attended West Orange High School.
