Marissa Barbuto

Marissa Barbuto, CPA, MBA has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2010 with their role as Executive Board Vice President and Student Representative for The University of Scranton Business Club. In 2013, Marissa held internships with Ladder Capital Finance LLC as an Accounting Intern, McGrail Merkel Quinn & Associates as a Tax Intern, and Lerch, Vinci, Higgins CPA as an Audit Intern. Additionally, Marissa was a Statistics Tutor at the University of Scranton in 2013 and a Graduate Teaching Assistant in 2014. Marissa then joined Grant Thornton LLP in 2015 as an Not-for-Profit and Higher Education Audit Associate, transitioning to Senior Associate level tasks, including audit planning, coordination with clients, and supervision of staff and interns. In 2017, Marissa joined Turtle Beach as an Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant. Most recently, Marissa has been a Senior Accounting Manager at Cognition Therapeutics, Inc. since 2022.

Marissa Barbuto, CPA, MBA attended the University of Scranton from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Marissa then returned to the University of Scranton from 2013 to 2015 to complete their Master of Business Administration in Accounting. Prior to that, they attended IMMACULATE HEART ACADEMY from 2006 to 2010. In February 2017, Marissa obtained certification as a NJ Certified Public Accountant from the AICPA.
