Nils Reimers

Nils Reimers is a seasoned professional in the field of machine learning and natural language processing, currently serving as the Director of Machine Learning at Cohere since July 2022. With prior experience as a researcher at Hugging Face, Nils established the science team for Neural Search, focusing on cutting-edge neural models for information retrieval. Nils's academic background includes postdoctoral research at Technische Universität Darmstadt, where work on dense text embedding models and the development of SentenceTransformers took place. Nils co-founded the social networking service stipnetz.de and the web analytics service digicount, and has held various roles, including freelance web development and internships at Deutsche Bank and McKinsey & Company.
