Samuel Rosset

Senior Hardware Design Engineer at Coherent Solutions

Samuel Rosset has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Samuel is currently working as a Senior Hardware Design Engineer at Quantifi Photonics since April 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Research Fellow at Auckland Bioengineering Institute from August 2017 to March 2023. Samuel also worked as a Scientist at EPFL in the Microsystems for Space Technologies Laboratory (LMTS) from July 2011 to June 2017, where they led and coordinated a team of around 10 people and conducted research on stretchable transducers in various areas. Samuel gained experience as a Visiting Scholar at Boston University's Biomedical Engineering department from October 2015 to June 2016, where they applied deformable cell culture systems for measuring mechanical properties of cells. As a Visiting Scholar at The University of Auckland's Auckland Bioengineering Institute in September and November 2012, they developed a close-loop-controlled soft optical tunable grating. Samuel also worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Optotune from January 2009 to July 2011, where they contributed to the research and development of electroactive polymer actuators and engineered a laser speckle reducer. Earlier in their career, Samuel worked as a Research Assistant at EPFL's Microsystems for Space Technologies Laboratory from January 2005 to December 2008, investigating the fabrication of highly-conductive compliant electrodes. Samuel started their career as a Research Scientist at Université de Neuchâtel's Photovoltaics and Thin Film Electronics Laboratory in April and December 2004, implementing a new measurement setup for characterizing defect density in thin-film solar cells.

Samuel Rosset pursued their education in Microengineering at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). Samuel completed their Master's degree in Microengineering from 1999 to 2004. Later on, they went on to attain a PhD in the same field from 2005 to 2008, still at EPFL.
