David Cairns

David Cairns has a strong background in the manufacturing industry, specifically with Coherent Inc. David started their career with the company in 2001 as a Laser Systems Engineer and quickly moved up the ranks. David worked as a Production Team Coordinator from 2003 to 2005 and then transitioned to become a Senior Production Supervisor from 2005 to 2009. In 2009, they were promoted to Production Manager and held this role until 2014. From 2014 to 2020, David served as a Senior Production Manager before being promoted to the position of Director of Operations in June 2020.

David Cairns attended the University of Strathclyde from 1996 to 2000 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (Bsc) with honors in Laser physics and optoelectronic. David then went on to pursue a Master of Research (MRes) at the same university from 2000 to 2001, with a focus on Photonics - Fiber ring lasers.
