Michael Cook

Michael Cook has a strong and extensive work experience in the laser systems and measurement industry. Michael started their career at Burleigh Instruments in 1983, where they worked in various sales, marketing, and sales management roles until 1993. From 1993 to 1997, they served as the European Distributor Manager at Burleigh Instruments. Cook then joined Coherent Inc. in 1997 and held the position of Sales Manager in the Coherent Catalog Division until 2003. Michael was subsequently promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing within the Laser Measurement Business Unit at Coherent Inc. from 2003 to 2005. Cook continued to excel in their career at Coherent Inc. and in 2005 became the Business Unit Manager for the Laser Measurement and Control Group and Laser Diode Module Group. Michael further advanced to the position of Business Unit Manager for the Laser Systems and Measurement Business Unit from 2009 to 2014. Cook then took on the role of Vice President and General Manager of the same Business Unit in 2014, where they assumed full P&L responsibility and spearheaded strategic planning, product development, manufacturing, and service across focused markets. Michael also prioritized customer care and employee experience, leading the company's efforts in laser and laser engine strategy for the Bioinstrumentation market.

Michael Cook earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Bioengineering from Syracuse University, graduating in 1982.
