Alex Mercier

Alex Mercier has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Beginning their career at American Veterinary Products as a Group Leader in Research & Development, they later joined Eli Lilly as an Associate in Quality Analytical Labs and then moved to Gen/Rx as a Manager in Quality Control. At Genentech, they held the positions of Senior Manager in Quality Control, Senior Principal in Product Quality Biologics, and Senior Director in Global Head of Quality Control and Ad Interim Head of Global Product Quality at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. Alex also worked at Amgen, where they served as Director of Product Quality and Director of Quality Control. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Vice President and Head of Quality at Coherus BioSciences, where they are responsible for overseeing the Quality organization. Throughout their career, Alex has been involved in various aspects of quality control, compliance, validation, and product lifecycle management, working closely with cross-functional teams and health authorities to ensure regulatory compliance and product quality.

Alex Mercier began their education at the United States Naval Academy, where they studied chemistry from 1986 to 1988. They later attended Colorado State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1990.
