Iain Toft

Iain Toft is a highly experienced software engineer specializing in trade execution and cryptocurrency platforms. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Coinbase since September 2020, Iain has contributed significantly to trade execution. Previously, Iain held roles at CoinList, where as Lead Exchange Engineer, Iain developed a retail cryptocurrency trading platform, and at Lukka, Inc., where Iain engineered reusable crypto exchange components and automated orchestration using Python. With a robust background in financial software development, Iain has also worked with major firms such as Nomura, PIMCO, and RBS Global Banking & Markets, focusing on electronic trading systems and PnL attribution. Academically, Iain holds a PhD in Agent Based Computational Economics and a 1st Class BSc in Computer Science from the University of East Anglia.
