Sandali Handagama

Sandali Handagama is an experienced journalist with a strong focus on policy and regulation in the digital asset and financial sectors. Currently serving as the Deputy Managing Editor for Policy and Regulation at CoinDesk since June 2020, Sandali has reported extensively on European financial regulation and broader global macroeconomic issues, including cryptocurrency adoption and emerging markets. Prior to this role, Sandali contributed to the Daily FT as a reporter on global macro and policy topics and worked as an independent contributor. Sandali's diverse background also includes teaching mathematics at the Overseas School of Colombo and serving as a Catalogue Editor for the International Film Festival of Colombo. Sandali holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University, a Master's degree in Financial Economics from the University of Colombo, and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with Honors from the University of South Florida.
