Anand Murali completed a Product Immersion for Small Newsrooms program at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY in 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from B. M. S. College of Engineering. Anand also holds a High School Diploma from Peevees Public School. At Indian School Muscat, they pursued Junior High/Intermediate/Middle School Education and Teaching. Additionally, Anand Murali obtained a Commercial Pilots License from Nice Air. Anand also has additional certifications, including Product Strategies for Journalism from the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas and Sorting Truth From Fiction: Civic Online Reasoning (Fact Checking) from MITx on edX, both obtained in 2021. In 2018, they obtained the IBM Blockchain Essentials certification, and in 2007, they obtained the FAA CPL (Multi-Engine) certification from the Federal Aviation Administration.
