James M. Sloat

James M. Sloat is the Associate Provost & Dean of Faculty at Colby College. James previously served as the Associate Dean for Assessment and New Initiatives at Washington & Jefferson College from January 2001 to December 2012. James also served as the Director, Center for Public Speaking, at Dickinson College from January 1996 to December 2001. James began their career as an Intern at Ball Corporation in January 1989 before pursuing their graduate studies at Duke University from January 1989 to December 1997.

James M. Sloat earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Political Science and Government from Duke University, and their B.A. in Politics from Washington and Lee University.
