Colby College
Kathryn Strong Hansen currently serves as the Schmaltz Family Associate Director of Multimodal Communication Programming at Colby College, where responsibilities include developing programs that enhance academic communication for students and faculty. Previous postdoctoral fellowships were held at the Program for Academic Success and Transformative Learning and the Center for Teaching and Learning. Prior to Colby College, Kathryn was a Senior Lecturer at Chalmers University of Technology, focusing on literature for specific purposes, and contributed significantly as a lecturer in academic and professional writing. Kathryn spent several years as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at The Citadel, emphasizing writing and literature, and started academia as an instructor at the University of Southern California. An early career in compliance at Capital Institutional Services included oversight of third-party contracts. Kathryn holds a Ph.D. in Eighteenth-Century British Literature and two master's degrees from the University of Southern California and the University of North Texas, along with a bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas.
