Bryony Evett Hackfort has a diverse work experience in the education sector. From September 2006 to March 2018, they worked as a Lecturer and Course Leader in Performing Arts at Coleg Sir Gar/Coleg Ceredigion. Bryony then transitioned into the role of Teaching and Learning Manager from March 2018 to December 2020. Later, they held the position of Director of Learning, Teaching, Technology, and Skills from December 2020 to November 2023. Concurrently, they served as a Governor of Coleg Sir Gar/Coleg Ceredigion from September 2014 to December 2021. In 2019, Bryony became a Peer Inspector at Estyn, and in 2020, they joined the Research College Group as a Steering Group Member. Bryony Evett Hackfort has a degree in Coaching and Mentoring from Coleg Sir Gar at ILM Level 3, as well as a degree in Leadership and Management from Coleg Sir Gar at ILM Level 4. Bryony also has a PGCE in PCET from the University of South Wales and a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Studies and Design and Production from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. Additionally, they have completed a Coaching and Mentoring Module at Level 7 from Wrexham University.

Coleg Sir Gâr was created in 1985 and became a corporate institution in 1993. In 2013 it became Coleg Sir Gar Ltd, a company within the University of Wales: Trinity Saint David Group, and part of a regional Dual Sector University. The College has an annual turnover of over £30m and employs around 800 staff. The College is based in South West Wales and has five main campuses at Llanelli (Graig), Carmarthen (Pibwrlwyd and Jobs Well), Ammanford and Llandeilo (Gelli Aur). The College is also home to Carmarthen School of Art which has its origins dating back to 1854.
