Kathleen Leishear

Kathleen Leishear is an experienced educator and counselor currently serving as the HS and College Counselor at Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt, The American School of Lima, and will assume the role of EC-12 Counseling Coordinator in August 2024. Since November 2021, Kathleen has also been an Application Reader at the University of California, Los Angeles, evaluating approximately 500 international student applications each cycle. Prior roles include HS and College Counselor and EC-12 Counseling Coordinator at the American School of Brasilia from July 2019 to June 2023, Secondary School Counselor and SST Coordinator at GEMS American Academy from August 2015 to July 2019, and School Counselor at Baltimore County Public Schools from August 2011 to July 2015. Kathleen's career began as a paralegal at Miles & Stockbridge between October 2007 and December 2008. Kathleen holds a Master of Education in School Counseling from Loyola University Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Political Science from Mary Baldwin University.
