Mary T. Schmitz, LICSW, currently serves as the Family Program Director at Newport Healthcare and is a CASEL Fellow with the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning, where responsibilities include leadership practices and developing implementation plans for social and emotional learning (SEL). In addition, Schmitz is the Coordinator of Social Emotional Behavior Services at BUFFALO-HANOVER-MONTROSE PUBLIC SCH SCHOOL DISTRICT and operates as a Wellness & Leadership Consultant through Mindful Mary T., providing mindfulness training and support to organizations. Previously, Schmitz held roles in education and mental health, including adjunct faculty at St. Mary's University of Minnesota and a mindfulness education specialist at ISD 728. Schmitz’s educational qualifications include a Master of Social Work from the University of Iowa and specialized training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction from UMass Chan Medical School.
