Collective Arts
Matthew Howell is an accomplished professional in the brewing and distilling industries, currently serving as Vice President of Operations, Head Distiller, Cider Maker, Director of Operations, and Director of Quality Assurance at Collective Arts since June 2016. Matthew also holds the position of President at Saint Howell Tastings, a venture that began in 2006 to share a passion for Scotch whisky while exploring beer and other spirits. Previous experience includes roles such as Packaging and Quality Manager at Arts and Science Brewery (2015-2017) and Quality and Packaging Manager at Nickel Brook Brewery (2012-2015). Matthew's academic background includes a Master’s degree in Brewing and Distilling from Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Guelph. Additional experience encompasses teaching at the Niagara College Brewing School and various positions in quality assurance and laboratory services, contributing to expertise in craft production and microbiological processes.
