Before PlayStation, they worked at Roofstock as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer in 2015, focusing on web-based residential mortgage investment tools. Thong's early experience includes a role at ComplianceEase as a Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer from October 2005 to May 2015. In this position, they played a key role in testing and verifying web-based applications for the financial services industry, ensuring compliance with QA standards, federal regulations, and customer specifications.

Thong Nguyen completed their Associate's Degree in Computer Science from City College of San Francisco from 1994 to 1997. Thong then pursued their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from San Francisco State University between 2002 and 2005.
