Megan Rigabar

Megan Rigabar is the Program Assistant for the Human Trafficking Programs at the Office of the South Carolina Attorney General. Prior to joining the Office of the Attorney General, Megan was the Disruption Strategies Fellow with Polaris, where she served as the pilot researcher to analyze nearly 600 illicit massage businesses’ use of online advertisements to obscure human trafficking practices. She also conducted research and provided logistical support for the Human Rights Programs at Vital Voices Global Partnership.

Megan graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Carolina Honors College with majors in Global Studies and Spanish and a minor in Islamic World Studies. While in college, Megan spent time in Cusco, Peru, studying Spanish and working at Aporvidha, a local human rights organization. She also spent a semester in Meknes, Morocco, where she studied Arabic and assisted a local community shelter in implementing English programs for youth and wellness programs for female survivors of violence. Megan was named the University of South Carolina’s 2019 Outstanding Woman of the Year for her work leading campus anti-human trafficking efforts and promoting women’s rights in her community.
