Rupa Jha is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of Collective Newsroom, an independent media company established in April 2024, specializing in producing and publishing content for BBC News in multiple Indian languages and on digital platforms. Previously, Rupa held significant leadership roles at BBC News, including Head of India and Head of Indian Languages, where responsibilities included building and managing the BBC’s language operations in India, overseeing the launch of new multimedia services, and ensuring the quality of editorial outputs. Prior experience also includes serving as Executive Editor at BBC Media Action, managing media outputs in Nigeria, and as Planning and Commissioning Editor for BBC World Service, focusing on coverage of India.
