Rana Emerson

Rana Emerson's work experience includes being a Program Director at College Forward since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Compliance Officer at GEORGE GERVIN YOUTH CENTER INC. from 2019 to 2022, where they were responsible for leading the planning and launch of a new educational program. Rana has also worked as a Director of Educational Programming at The Lower Eastside Girls Club of New York from 2017 to 2019, overseeing after-school programs and providing academic support. Rana's earlier experience includes working as a College Now Program Coordinator at The City University of New York from 2006 to 2017, where they facilitated program-wide professional development and managed dual-enrollment programs.

Rana Emerson's education history begins in 1986 when they attended Incarnate Word High School. Rana then went on to Yale University from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. After a break, Rana continued their education at The University of Texas at Austin from 1997 to 2005. During this time, they earned a Master of Arts degree in Sociology in 1999 and pursued advanced studies (ABD) until 2005.
